Cookie Policy
Effective date: August 22, 2026 — based on a storage audit of the deployed site
This policy describes the cookies and similar storage technologies used by southpointcloser.com. It reflects a real audit of the built website, not a generic template, and it is updated whenever the Site's storage behavior changes.
1. The short version
This website sets no cookies at all — first-party or third-party — and loads no third-party analytics, advertising or social media scripts. All fonts, images, styles and code are served from this website's own domain. The only browser storage the Site uses is a single first-party localStorage entry that remembers the consent choice you make in the cookie banner. That is the complete list.
2. Complete storage table
The following table is exhaustive. If it is not in this table, this website does not store it.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| southpoint_consent | localStorage (first-party) | Records the choice you make in the consent banner (accept, reject, or saved preferences), so the banner is not shown again on every visit. Contains only your choice and a timestamp — no identifier, no tracking value. | 12 months, then your choice is asked again | Strictly necessary |
No sessionStorage keys, no IndexedDB databases, and no cookies of any category are set by this website.
3. The consent banner
On your first visit (and again after 12 months, or after you clear your browser data) the Site shows a discreet banner at the bottom of the page with three options:
- Accept — records a positive choice for all categories.
- Reject — records a negative choice for everything that is not strictly necessary.
- Preferences — opens a panel where each category is shown separately: strictly necessary storage (always on, because it is what remembers your choice) and analytics (off by default — and currently unused: this website has no analytics at all, so the toggle exists only to future-proof your choice).
The banner is informational in nature: because the Site sets no optional cookies and runs no analytics, "Accept" and "Reject" currently lead to the same technical behavior. We show the banner anyway so that your choice is recorded before any optional technology could ever be introduced, and so that the choice you make today would be respected then.
4. How to change or withdraw your choice
You can reopen the preferences panel at any time through the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of every page, and change or withdraw your choice with immediate effect. You can also delete the stored choice directly by clearing this site's data in your browser settings (usually under Privacy, "Cookies and site data" — the entry appears under southpointcloser.com), after which the banner will appear again on your next visit. Because the consent record lives only in your browser, deleting it there deletes it completely; we hold no server-side copy of your banner choice.
5. Categories explained, for reference
- Strictly necessary storage: technology required for the Site to function or to honor your legal choices. On this Site, that is only the southpoint_consent entry described above.
- Analytics storage: measurement tools such as Google Analytics or self-hosted equivalents. Not used on this Site.
- Advertising / remarketing storage: marketing trackers such as Meta Pixel, Google Ads or LinkedIn Insight tags. Not used on this Site.
- Functional / third-party embeds: video players, maps, chat widgets and similar embedded services that set their own cookies. Not used on this Site.
6. Server logs are not cookies
Our web server keeps standard technical logs (IP address, requested page, timestamp, user agent) for security and operation. These are server-side records, involve no storage in your browser, and are covered by the Privacy Policy rather than this document.
7. If this ever changes
If analytics or any other non-essential technology is ever added to this website, this policy will be updated first, the table above will list each new cookie or storage key (name, provider, purpose, duration, category), and the consent banner will require an affirmative choice before any non-essential technology fires, where applicable law requires it. The effective date at the top of this page tells you when the last audit was reflected.
